14.00 + 15.00 Mini Theatre

Camille Mutel trained in contemporary dance with Hervé Diasnas and in Butoh with Masaki Iwana. She formed her own company in 2003 and although she dances solo, her works are always strong collaborations with composers and lighting designers.

She often explores the theme of primordial instincts and impulses of desire and death.

Effraction de l'oubli (bursting into oblivion) evolved after Camille read Maurice Blanchot’s Orpheus Look, she became fascinated with the moment that Orpheus turns to Eurydice and reveals the emptiness that opens to imagination – this became her starting point. Performing regularly in Japan she is hailed there as one of a handful of western dancers who understand and convey the sensibilities of Butoh.
